Meaty posts are coming, I promise, but this one will be yet another rambling filler type thing that I warned you about back when I resolved to blog once a week. More often than not that amounts to these sorts of things– the alternative is the long bouts of silence you’re otherwise accustomed to here on the blog. All things considered, I think I’ve done pretty well keeping up with the spirit of the resolution, only missing one week.
So, I’m working on a pair of Chuck posts that I simply want to pour more effort into than time has allowed lately. The first is the postmortem/retrospective/celebration of the series following its finale. The second is music related and will consist of the Chuck playlist I’ve been assembling of songs featured on the show. That currently stands at 42 songs from an eclectic range of artists, and I’m not prepared to declare it “complete” yet.
To hold you over, here are a few tracks from it that you can look up and sample on your own. A YouTube search should be sufficient. I won’t waste the time hunting down links until the actual post. 😉
- Cobrastyle by the Teddybears
- Fake Empire by The National
- Now We Can See by The Thermals
- In My Sleep by Austin Hartley-Leonard and Kendall Jane Meade
- Down River by The Temper Trap
- On My Way Back Home by Band of Horses
- A Girl, a Boy, and a Graveyard by Jeremy Messersmith
- Squealing Pigs by Admiral Fallow
- We Are Young by Fun.
- Rivers and Roads by The Head and the Heart
I’ve already grabbed full albums by Admiral Fallow, The Head and the Heart, and Band of Horses. More on them at a later date. All of the above are worth grabbing via iTunes or Amazon MP3. Pick your poison.
In the meantime, I’ll be wasting time on Twitter @emtrey.
