I decided to do something of a soft reboot of this blog to allow it to grow into something more focused, thoughtful, and generally more interesting. I have not entirely determined what that will necessarily entail, but for starters I’ve quasi-nuked all of my old posts. Oh, they’re still here in the archive–fully searchable by both subject and date– but they’ve been collected into a single category and removed from the front page content stream. It seemed like the best of both worlds.
The “please leave my site and go to these other cool sites” sidebar is gone in favor of genuine content. We’ve got a live stream from both my Twitter and Flickr accounts, which will probably be updated far more frequently than this blog will, but which will nevertheless provide you with fresh content here. I see the Flickr stream, in particular, becoming a central focus of the site and give me the chance to pontificate on the all-around fun of photography while showing off the pieces I’m proud of. I’ll get a separate link page up sometime, although I was bemused by the fact that many of the sites I used to list here I either never visit anymore or shut down.
The theme has been updated to another one of WordPress’ default ones, at least for the time being as I decide whether or not I want to code a new one from scratch. It depends upon the day you ask me. I’ve also done some general clean-up around the site.
